Red Head Gallery
401 Richmond Street, West
Toronto ON M5V 3A8
The Red Head Gallery is pleased to present, TOGETHER / APART, an exhibition by Jim Bourke.
I have long been interested in the physical interaction between people in public spaces; particularly with how we adapt to having strangers in close proximity. ‘Social distancing’ has introduced a new dance into the complex rhythm of the city.
These works are a reflection of how this dance has changed our lives.
Jim Bourke studied fine art at York University, graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design, and studied computer animation at Sheridan College.
His work is in private and corporate collections across Canada and he has exhibited widely in his 35+ years as a practicing artist. Bourke also had a long career as an exhibition designer at the Art Gallery of Ontario and has won awards in numerous juried exhibitions including OSA, TOAE, Mississauga Art Gallery, and the RCA.
