American Abstract Artists

L’association des Artistes Abstraits Américains (AAA) voit le jour en 1936 à New York, à une époque où l'Abstraction peine encore à s'installer sur le nouveau continent. Cette organisation précède de peu la naissance de l’Ecole de New York et de l’Expressionnisme Abstrait.
On retrouve parmi ses membres des noms d’artistes très actifs également en Europe, à l’image de Jean Arp, Fernand Léger, Laszlo Moholy-Nagy ou encore Piet Mondrian.
