Itinérances Clara Lang-Ezekiel

“Itinérances” est une exposition d’art contemporain réunissant six artistes de différentes nationalités dont la vie ou l’histoire familiale leur a permis d’établir une relation intime avec les termes de réfugié, d’immigré et d’expatrié. A travers leur propre regard et leur approche artistique, ces artistes se réunissent pour créer un dialogue autour du thème actuel, mais pas nouveau, et souvent controversé de l’immigration.

Qu’il s’agisse des contributions uniques des immigrés à la culture et à l’identité françaises, de la réputation inquiétante donnée aux étrangers, de l’expérience tumultueuse du changement de pays, de culture et d’identité, ou de la façon dont les migrations affectent le paysage même que nous voyons, ces artistes vous invitent à vous joindre à leurs réflexions sur notre relation aux termes “immigré”, “réfugié” et “expatrié”, ainsi qu’aux personnes à qui nous attribuons ces étiquettes.

“Itinérances” is a contemporary art exhibition bringing together six artists of different nationalities whose own lives or family histories have given them an intimate relationship to the terms refugee, immigrant, and expatriate. Through their own unique lens and artistic approach, these artists come together to create a discourse around the current, though by no means new, and often controversial topic of immigration.

From the unique contributions of immigrants to French culture and identity, the troublesome reputation given to foreigners, the tumultuous experience of moving countries, changing culture, and evolving identities, to the way migrations affect the very landscape we see; these artists invite you to join in their musings about out relationship to  the  terms  “immigrant,”  “refugee,” and “expatriate” as well as the people we ascribe these labels to.
