This is the first solo museum show by Sable Elyse Smith, a Queens Museum Jerome Fellow who continues her ongoing exploration of violence and its effects, specifically incarcerated individuals and their loved ones. In Ordinary Violence, Smith draws from her own experience of visiting her father in each of the six prisons he has inhabited over the past 20 years.
