The exhibition presents the premiere of the experimental documentary Quando o segundo sol chegar / um cometa nos teus olhos (2025) by Janaina Wagner, which centers on the BR-230, commonly known as the Trans-Amazonian Highway.
Designed to connect the Amazon to Brazil’s coast, the construction of the Trans-Amazonian Highway during the military regime was driven by an extractivist perspective and generated tensions with local communities. The exhibition highlights how the highway reshaped the landscape and left profound imprints on the environment and the daily lives of local populations, impacting both Brazilian culture and history.
